After the super successful Surfers for Climate Car Park cinema at fellow B-Corp Stone and Wood in Byron Bay we began working closely with Josh Kirkman (Owner and Co-founder of SFC) to create the first ever Trade Up event. Josh shared our view that it was about time we tapped into “Turfers” (Tradie Surfers) based up and down the East Coast of Australia in an effort to try and shine a light on the damage our industry is having on the environment and connect this group using the medium of surfing.
Dean shared the Verdecon story so far highlighting our efforts to date around B-Corp Certification & Climate active Carbon Neutral accreditation. We also heard from Zara D’Cotta from Healthy Homes, Tom Moran from Holcim (Eco Pact Zero- Carbon neutral concrete), Jahdon Quinlan at Stone & Wood, Varuna Surfboards and Single O Coffee. All truly inspiring presentations.
