Verdecon Approach

Our model is based on a integrated design process. Everything we do is backed by a robust, transparent and agreed budget underpinned by policies, procedures, and programs that put the financial control of the project back onto the client and architect. All documentation is agreed upon ensuring we have a clear path forward. We have multiple client testimonials acknowledging this is a great system, and one that works.

Our Directors

Our aim is to encourage conversations around responsible construction that highlight a thoughtful approach to the building process. Together we can identify ways to save time, money and importantly resources without compromising on quality or aesthetics.

Dean Ipaviz, Matt Baker & Michael Correa

Directors

Dean is a Green Star certified, Licensed carpenter and Builder. He has a wealth of knowledge in high-end residential, commercial and hospitality fields and has a real passion for moving the built environment towards a more responsible future. He is always keen to explore new ways of doing things and is excited to work with new materials and clients.

With over fifteen years of experience in the construction industry, Matt began his journey as an apprentice carpenter working on architecturally designed houses in Australia’s southwest. His love for the trade and dedication led him to successfully run his carpentry business before joining forces to create Verdecon. Matt prides himself on his strong communication and the ability to collaborate closely with clients to ensure that every house he works on turns into a home.

Michael Correa comes from a corporate banking background with experience in green investments.  He commissioned Verdecon to carry out renovations to his Watson’s Bay residence and saw something special in the approach and results on his own project.  He became a mentor to Dean and Matt, guiding their financial and business decision making, eventually becoming a permanent fixture as a third director.  Since his involvement Verdecon has achieved an elevated level of success and it’s continuing to flourish during challenging times in the industry.

Bondi Beach / Gadigal

Our Sydney office is situated on the ancestral lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. We are dedicated to coastal preservation and Indigenous reconciliation. As stewards of this vibrant community, we recognise the significance of Sydney's Indigenous heritage and its role in shaping our identity as a responsible construction company. By embracing the cultural importance of this coastal haven, we strive to integrate responsibility into every aspect of our work, honouring the land and its traditional custodians with each project we undertake.

Byron Bay / Arakwal

Our Byron Bay office is located on the traditional lands of the Bundjalung people. Byron Bay holds a special place in our hearts and operations. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Cape Byron and its pristine beaches, our presence here is a testament to our commitment to responsibility and respect for Indigenous heritage. Byron Bay's rich cultural tapestry and strong community ethos inspire us to embrace concious construction practices and foster meaningful connections with the land and its custodians.

"Throughout my time with Verdecon, I have been deeply engaged with B Corp accreditation, carbon neutrality, advocacy, and education. This is not your standard construction company by any means."
Holly McQueen
Office/Environmental Impact Manager

We would love to explore what we can create together.

Verdecon is one of only a handful of B Corp Certified construction companies in Australia. Founded in Sydney’s eastern suburbs by Dean Ipaviz & Matthew Baker, between the two directors we have over 20 years of industry experience in Project & Site management for residential & commercial construction and carpentry.
