-Vincent Stanley

We're a simple bunch here at VerdeCon, Simple but very passionate! Passionate about standing up and making a difference and doing whats right. With this and the above statement in mind we have chosen to adopt a responsible building methodology to all our projects in the hope we will be the first ripple in a tidal wave of change for our industry.

In our humble opinion it is no longer "sustainable" for companies to simply measure Profit and loss as a tool for success. In a short time we have already discovered that any business no matter what industry, size and whether it chooses to or not will ultimately have a greater impact on our planet than what it is able to give back. As a result we have chosen to integrate the word "responsible" into our business plan which will govern the way we run all facets of our business from onsite to in our office.

How........... choosing FSC timbers, veneered hardwoods, low VOC paints, solvents and glues, being proactive with rubbish disposal and waste separation onsite, integrating grey use water systems and solar power with battery back up where applicable and investing time into our pre construction phase utilizing user friendly computer technology which will ultimately lead to smarter ordering, less waste and reduced delivery fees and emissions into our atmosphere.

Our aim is to lift the stigma surrounding "sustainable" construction and highlight that with a thoughtful approach to the building experience, we / you can actually find ways to save money and more importantly, save resources. Put simply our company can be summed up in the  below quote from our favourite book. "Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis" -Vincent Stanley / Yvon Chouinard - (The Responsible Company)

Verdecon was founded by two knowledgeable, courteous and client driven tradesman with over 20 years of industry experience (Combined) in Carpentry, Building, Project and Site management. Our company will always be centred around responsible Project delivery while building and maintaining relationships. We are committed to improving the future of our industry, and as such we currently employ 2 apprentices . That's 1/4 of our workforce! If we're to take the built environment forward and improve practice's, standards and grow our responsible methodology then employing and educating apprentices is the only way to ensure our industry improves and begins to reduce our impact and footprint.

Does your builder employ apprentices or offset their carbon emmissions?
